While the Year 7 & 8's were off on their ski camp, Mrs Long took the Year 6 students to Owlcatraz in Shannon. Below we recount some of our experiences.
My experience at Owlcatraz was amazing we did all sorts of things. The first thing that we did was have morning tea. After that started listening to the lady tell us about how Owlcatraz was formed. Then we started walking through the bush. Our guide was called Don. Then we went to see the Weka. We also got to go into the pen and
pat the Weka. After that we went to go go see the Owls inside their enclosure. After that we went on the farm walk we got to see Pig’s, Alpaca, Donkeys, and an Ostrich. Then we went to go see the eels in the lake. Then we had lunch. The last thing we did was see the Glow Worm’s. Then we went home :( Charly

This week for Year 6 tech, we made tinfoil sculptures. After watching a youtube clip, we followed the instructions to make our own tinfoil sculptures. We moulded the sculpture and used a torch to create a shadow on to a piece of coloured card. Take a look at our work in progress, and the finished product.
